@asyncDia Depends on what you want to do with JS. If you only want to show static content, there's a good chance you won't need JS.

@ca3cak100 I honestly doubt it.And I personally hope the bubble bursts rather sooner than later to stop the further enshittification of the internet. There's a nice blog that shows how the numbers simply don't add up for AI: https://www.wheresyoured.at

I recently got a new old laptop,a Acer Aspire 9813WKMi,for my growing laptop collection :D I hoped to run Haiku on it,doesn't work due to graphics driver issues, but FreeBSD runs fine.Oh I love this huge beast of a laptop.

r3dfox seems to be a interesting LibreWolf replacement. They still support Windows Vista in the latest version,so the risk of 32bit Windows 10 support disappearing anytime soon should be pretty low.And it has a much better design than LibreWolf/Firefox

LibreWolf silently dropped support for 32bit Windows. While I understand that it doesn't make sense for them to keep maintaining it,it's really unfortunate for people who still own some low-end 32bit Intel Atom devices, like me.Time to switch browsers :/

If things go well,I'll soon be a member of the Haiku Support Association e.V. :) Just sent my membership request.Last BeGeistert event was many years ago.Maybe,if enough interested people join, something like that is possible again in the future.

Working on my new Usenet newsreader for Haiku.I'm rather happy how the articles show up,but sending still needs to be implemented before it's ready for a first public preview.

Spent the whole day researching possible replacements for the normal web.The combination of HTML+CSS+JS has lead to too much bloat and I think there's a need to start over with something new.GeminiProtocol is nice, but too restrictive.WAP/WML is interesting

@sunny Yeah, I really enjoy that work. Contributing to Haiku feels like the most impactful development work I've done so far. Took some time to understand enough of C++ to be helpful, but once you do, it's really fun :)

Hello World! Just registered to try this thing out. Haven't used social media for years. I'm a open-source developer. Previously mostly web stuff, nowadays mostly C++ for the awesome Haiku operating system.
